Alex's Music Box

Hi! I'm Alex. I'm just a few months old and, like all babies, sometimes I find it hard to sit still, and falling asleep is a little nightmare. Mum says I'm a "little rascal", and Dad says I'm "a right handful". I don't get it. I'm a boy, not a rascal, and I'm certainly not a handful. Goodness, they're the ones who named me! Who can understand grown-ups…

The thing is, sometimes I get nervous, especially when we get on that bus so full of people chatting or shouting that I can hardly hear what Mum is saying. Or in the supermarket queue, which never seems to move. That's why my parents got this app: so I always have my music box close by. When Mum or Dad turns it on, lullabies play and I see a little wooden piano with cuddly toy animals sleeping and rocking slowly. I watch them, I listen to the music… and paradise doesn't seem so far away.

I take it everywhere: to the park, when we go for a walk with the pushchair; on the train, when we go to see my aunt and uncle; to the restaurant, when the grown-ups take forever to finish lunch; after my bath, when it's time for bed; and in bed, with the screen off: just the music, softly, until I fall asleep. And when it ends, it turns itself off with a goodbye song. Nobody has to come into my room to stop it.

Alex's Music Box sounds like the music boxes of old. It plays traditional Catalan children's songs and lullabies, specially arranged for music box. For parents, we offer peace of mind: no ads and no purchases. We collect no data at all: not from your baby, from you or from the device. That's also why we don't need the internet. In Alex's Music Box there's nothing for the baby to tap: they just watch and listen. And we make sure that what they see and hear is of the highest possible quality. The movements are slow and gentle, designed for a baby's eyes. The colours, warm. And the songs are the crown jewels: we arrange each piece to suit the baby's age. No complicated melodies or virtuosity: simple arrangements with calm tempos. And in the bedtime routines, the music keeps playing even when the device is locked.

But we also offer you personalisation: you choose how long it lasts, 5, 10, 20 or 45 minutes. There are routines for every moment of the day: a walk in the street or the park, bath and bed, or just bed. And if you don't want your baby in front of a screen at such a young age, we adapt: in dark mode only the music plays, and the screen stays off. In the Parents' corner you choose the duration, the routine and a few other things. In Alex's Music Box, no session is unlimited: everything has a beginning and an end. After the time you've chosen, Alex's Music Box goes to sleep and says goodbye. And it switches itself off (the wonders of modern life).
