La Capseta de Música
The animations
An animation in the music box is a picture that moves slowly. Pictures and movements are made separately, and the music box combines them: each time, a picture with a movement.
For now, pictures and animations are designed for a very specific audience: Babies (0 to 18 months), but later on you'll find music boxes designed for Toddlers (18 to 36 months) and for "big" Children (over 3 years).
The pictures
- The main picture is a music box, with its crank or its key, centred and clear.
- Characters around it, or that seem to come in and out: for example, cuddly toy animals sleeping, a group of flying fairies, an astronaut and their spaceship.
- They are generated with AI, with a whole set of restrictions to adapt each picture to the audience it is meant for. This adaptation is our "Visual Seal".
- Nothing scary, no aggressive expressions and no letters. All the characters are smiling or sleeping peacefully.
- Dark, warm backgrounds for babies and toddlers: never white or blue. Why, in The colours.
The movement
- Slow, gentle and predictable: rocking, breathing, slowly turning. No jumps.
- They are also generated with AI, with their own restrictions. This is also part of the "Visual Seal".
- For a young child's eyes, what matters is not how far the picture goes but how fast it moves. Each music box has a maximum speed for its age: 7.5 degrees per second for babies, 15 for toddlers and 30 for children. If an animation is faster, the music box slows it down by itself.
- Never more than 3 sudden changes of light per second (the international accessibility standard, WCAG).
- If the device has "Reduce Motion" turned on, the music box respects it.
- "Diversity": every music box has its own movements; we want all our music boxes to be different.
